Human Rights Watch - an organization that closely looks into the violations of human rights around the world in times of turmoil and unrest have recently uncovered that Saudi Arabia has dropped cluster bombs in Yemen. The allegations are that U.S is supplying Saudi Forces with these bombs. Both Saudi Arabia and U.S are not a part of Convention on Cluster munitions, which means they are not restricted to use these. The point here is that these bombs are very lethal and should only be used when the target is definitive, may it be in air or land. If the target is missed, they have the capability of self-abortion in air;however, if this abortion fails it spreads what we call bomblets which work like ground mines killing anyone who steps on them. A video footage shows the US dropping these bombs through parachutes in Yemen battle grounds. Such incidents need our attention because they may kill people which are not taking an active part between the fight. It can kill civilians and most prominently children. US officials have stated that these bombs are only supplied to those who use them to diffuse imminent threat. HRW also accused the SA forces of using these bombs near villages, putting innocent lives at risk. If these allegations turn out to be true after further investigation, then it truly is a sad news because US forces will indirectly be responsible for innocent lives that are lost like this.
P.S. The footage is available in the link which shows the supplies being dropped through parachutes.
