Qatar cover-up? Doha detains German reporters investigating FIFA World Cup

While visiting Qatar to investigate the corruption of FIFA president Sepp Blatter and possible human rights violations related to the construction for the FIFA World Cup in 2022, reporter Florian Bauer and his colleagues were detained, interrogated by both the police and secret service, and prevented from leaving the country for several days. In addition, the materials collected for the two German news networks who planned to run the story were erased, and their equipment was destroyed. So far several hundred Indian and Nepalese workers have died since construction of stadiums began in 2010. Qatar has also been accused of bribing top officials to secure the nomination to host the World Cup.
