US Navy escorts ships near Iran

U.S. Navy warships accompanied four U.S.-ships through the Strait of Hormuz Thursday, beginning a new military operation to protect american vessels from Iran military.

Col. Edward Thomas says that this was "not designed to send a signal" but is "merely a hedge against some unpredictable Iranian behavior the last few days,' but whether that's true or the US is just swaggering isn't clear.

Pentagon officials provided clarification Thursday afternoon that not every ship will necessarily be accompanied by the Navy, but this still sets an interesting president saying that the US clearly doesn't trust Iran.
