This Saturday, according to CNN, Turkey and Armenia will be signing a peace agreement in Zurich. This comes as good news considering there has been tension between the two countries since the early 1900's. This treaty is the first step for the two countries to really have peace. The treaty will open the borders between Turkey and Armenia, which have been closed since 1993. Turkey and Armenia have the chance to put their bloody history behind them and move forward to a peaceful future. But can they move on, or are past offenses too great to let them slide? Armenia has accused Turkey of committing genocide nearly ten decades ago and there are international experts investigating the accusations against Turkey but if Turkey turns out to be guilty will Armenia pull out of the agreement? Will they try to get justice for those who were killed by starting a war? The situation is extremely difficult and it will take a lot of trust from both countries to make the agreement work and last.
