Information flow continues as officials investigate failed Times Square attack

More information is continuing to come in as officials work to find out who was responsible for the attempted car bomb in New York's Times Square on Saturday night. The Joint Terrorism Task Force has said that there is a possibility that the suspect they are looking for could be a naturalized US citizen of Pakistani origin. They are also considering the possibility that there may have been more than one person involved in the attempted attack. This comes after a senior US official said there is "no credible evidence...that the Pakistani Taliban was responsible for the Times Square incident." Other information that has been obtained includes information that shows that the car used in the attempted attack was bought three weeks ago in Connecticut from a seller on Craigslist. The seller of the car, who is not being considered a suspect, described the buyer as a male in his late 20s or early 30s who paid using cash. As authorities continue to examine the car for more evidence, they are also reviewing phone records of various businesses that could have supplied the components used in the failed bomb.
