The nation of Nepal is currently divided as the Nepalese government and the Maoist opposition continue to clash. And just recently, a strike on behalf of the Maoist group was called for in an effort to overthrow the government. Many supporters of the Maoist resistance have taken to the streets to show their disapproval of the current government and their allegiance for the opposition. But the problem is still pretty intense as the strike has quieted the nation through closed and empty businesses, schools, offices, etc. The Prime Minister, Madhav Kumar Nepal, explains that the Maoists have placed blame on the government for having a "conspiratorial role" in the nation's constitution, and also claims that he would rather have the Maoists "resolve their issues through dialogue." Although this seems like a good way to resolve things, it's pretty unlikely because the unrest will probably ensue until the government is overthrown by the Maoists. The cause for the Maoist reaction is that they believe the government has failed to develop a peace plan or a constitution. As of now, the protests and the strike aren't violent, but we still don't know what will continue to occur in Nepal.
