Iranian President Addresses United Nations Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty
On Sunday, May 1, 2010, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad left for the United States to address the United Nations Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT). He has staked the claim that the N.P.T. has failed, and that "The biggest threat to the world today is the production and stockpiling of nuclear weapons." Ahmadinejad's lead advisor mentioned that the Iranian President was going to offer proposals but also suggest that Iran would keep their nuclear program. Ahmadinejad accused Washington of being the root of terrorism and have also been supporting many extremist groups in recent years. The conference on Monday will reveal some interesting propositions, and we will have to see whether the United States chooses "companionship or conflict.
