Ahmad SaniYerima a 49 year old Senator is accused of marrying a 13 year old girl from Egypt. Yerima denied breaking any law but he also said that "he will not respect any law that contradicts his religious beliefs". The Senate has lauched an investigation after several complaints from women groups. The Egyptian embassy will follow through these alligations because it is illegal to marry a girl that is under age. Yermia believes that all these complaints are detractors because since 1999 people have been trying to wage war against him. The Senator believes that he did not violate any rule concerning Islam, and that he followed the standard rules of marriage in Islam.
