Syria, Russia: Coalition airstrike kills regime forces

In an almost week long ceasefire, a U.S. airstrike targeted an eastern piece of land that was not part of the ceasefire, killing dozens of Syrian troops. The United States has said that it was an accident for the Syrian troops to be killed, they were not the target of this airstrike. ISIS was the intended target for this strike. Hours after the strike, at an emergency Security Council meeting, the U.S. and Russian ambassadors to the United Nations are chastising each other, with Russia and Syria both saying that the strikes show that the United States is sympathetic with ISIS because they were not hit as they were intended to be. Many questions are being raised due to the fact that the Russian-American agreement against terrorism is set to begin in two days.
