BP Oil Well Dead

The BP oil well has finally been plugged. A permanent cement plug has been put in place over the well. Previously the well had been contained, however mud and cement were pushed down into the well causing the cap to be broken. Then it was not actually declared dead because they could not rely on it not breaking again and leaking oil. Now the well is sealed from the bottem insuring that it will not explode again. However, the gulf residents are still feeling the aftermath and will continue to suffer for years to come. Industry and tourism has taken a huge hit. Many cannot fish wile those who can aren't selling their catch because many still believe that the fish are unsafe to eat. The largest victim of the oil spill has been BP PLC. Stocks that belong to BP have taken a major hit and the company has already payed over 20 billion dollars in cleanup costs and compensation to the victims of the disaster.
