Horn Afrik, Somalia's best known independent broadcaster, was attacked first at the headquarters in Mogadishu, Somalia's capital, by the group al-Shabab. The other station, GBC, was raided second by Hizbul Islam. The groups have targeted media by killing journalists and banning music on the radio in an effort to topple the transitional government.
