At the Schiphol International Airport in Amsterdam, a man of Somali origin was arrested. The arrest occurred early Sunday, September 19. The man has not yet been identified but he is being questioned about possible relations to international terrorist organizations. The unidentified suspect was attempting to fly to Uganda from Amsterdam while the arrest took place on the airplane as it was about to depart. Last month, at the same airport, Schiphol Airport, two Yemeni men were arrested while en route to Chicago. Two days later however, they were freed with showing no signs of terrorist actions. It turns out the two men did not even know each other. Also, on Christmas day in 2009, Umar Farouk AbdulMutallab, was arrested after unsuccessfully trying to set off a bomb aboard a plane from Amsterdam to Detroit, Michigan. He was later charged with offenses of attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction and willful attempt to destroy an aircraft.
