According to this story in the London Telegraph the President of Iran Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may indeed have Jewish roots. Not surprisingly, the story is causing quite a stir across the blogosphere. Apparently his family name was Sabourjian (a Jewish name meaning cloth weaver). The family changed their name to Ahmadinejad when they converted to Islam following the birth of Mahmoud. While not a game changer, the revelation does provide some psychological context for the President's overly fiery and hate-filled anti-Jewish rhetoric.

UPDATE: It appears that Ahmadinejad's Jewishness is open for debate. Meir Javedanfar from the Guardian posts a response which questions the earlier claim. To be determined...
