American team working to free trapped Chilean miners

On August 5th 33 men became trapped as their gold and silver mine collapsed on top of them. Brandon Fischer and a small team of Americans are working to free the Chilean miners that are trapped 2,300 feet below the surface of the earth. The 33 miners have been trapped underground for over a month and are likely to remain trapped for possibly a couple months as the drilling teams attempt to get them out. This is especially grueling providing this is all happening in the middle of the hot Atacama Desert. This is a good example of how countries can come together in times of need, Fisher say "We have got humans in the ground, it doesn't matter if their Americans or Chileans". The teams intent is to drill a hole large enough to rescue the men one by one in a specially designed metal cage. The Chilean government understands what the American troop are trying to do and are cooperating.
