If the US was able to convince China to appreciate its currency I think it would have little effect on the US economy. Actually I think that it would have a negitive effect unless the values rose to be equal to the US dollar so that some manufactuing work could come back here. Unless the value of Chinesse money rose to be equal with the US dollar it would make goods made there more expensive to produce and hurt the US economy since so many of the things bought here are made there. As sad as it is the jobs that were lost in the US and sent overseas will never be back. I do think that the US needs to do something to control how goods are made in China because of their huge growth with no environmental laws or human rights laws. So even though I think it would hurt the US economy I think the US needs to try to step in to reform their laws.
