U.S Hiker Might Be Freed for a Hefty Fee

Sarah Shourd and her two friends, Shane Bauer and Josh Fattal, have been detained in Iran for over a year for making the mistake of wandering into Iranian territory while hiking. Shourd could be released as early as Monday pending the transfer of the $500,000 bail set by an Iranian judge. The Swiss Embassy is working in the interest of the U.S in this international debacle and will deposit the bail money. Samantha Topping, a mother of one of the hikers and spokesperson of this matter, has yet to comment about Shourd's possible release. Shourd has a pre-existing medical issues that are becoming more prevalent and need medical attention, which is the reasoning for her release. Once released on bail for the charge of espionage, Shroud eventually should return to Iran for her trial.
