Huawei's Meng Wanzhou sues Canada authorities over arrest

Meng Wanzhou, the daughter of Huawei’s founder, filed a civil claim against Canada's government, boarder agency and police for " serious breaches" of her civil rights.
Wanzhou, was detained in December, because of suspicions of fraud and breaching the US sanctions against Iran.

In January, US authorities filed almost two dozen charges against Huawei's, the company is the second largest smartphone maker in the world as well as Ms. Meng and send a formal request for extradition.

China has stated that the arrest and the extradition process is a " political incident” and has attacked these actions. They also consider that this a “abuse of the bilateral extradition treaty” between Canada and the US, expressing “resolute opposition “and “strong dissatisfaction” with the proceedings.

Canada states that they are following the law.

It is thought that, in China, two Canadians were arrested as retaliation for the arrest of Meng Wanzhou.
