Taiwan’s All-Out Defense Mobilization Act Bill Under Debate -- Sydney Park
China's president, Xi Jinping, has made comments about making their military a "Great Wall of Steel," which unsettles many policy makers and political agents involved in the China-Taiwan situation. This is creating a discussion of war-time legislation in China. This is all just raising concerns for state leaders. What also doesn't help these rising concerns is that Taiwan's Ministry of Defense put forth a draft of the "All Out Defense Mobilizations Readiness Act." It does have a lot of kick back from Taiwanese policy makers because of its lack of specification and lack of "crucial information." This plan featured updates that reflect the growing tensions between China and Taiwan, addressing misinformation tactics from fake-news dissemination, cognitive warfare, and enhancing the society's ability to protect itself. All of these things must be done, for Taiwan's defense, before anything further escalates with China. The main problem is that the plan didn't say how these objectives were going to be met.
