Tennessee's Congress was in session to discuss the matter of the school shooting that occurred in late March of 2023. There was a protest happening at the state capitol with hundreds of gun control activists, many being students. Many protesters entered the capitol to an area where it's allowed to watch Congress be in session. They vocalized their protest and three Democratic Representatives supported their chant. Two of those Representatives were expelled from Congress by a Republican-majority vote for causing a disruption, but they hope to reclaim their seats in the upcoming special reelection for those districts.
