Under the monthly procedural rotation, Russia has taken over as president of the UN security council. Ukraine's Foreign Minister has said that this just proves that "something is wrong with the way international security architecture is functioning". The Ukrainian President also commented and said that Russia continues to kill innocent people in Ukraine and therefore has no business being president of a council to protect peace. He called it a "bankruptcy of procedures in world institutions". The US ambassador expressed concern that this will allow Russia to promote their own agenda related to the invasion of Ukraine.
