Citizens appear to have been targeted by Myanmar's government during a strike against their opposition movement. An airstrike was carried out against a gathering of people at the opening of one of the oppositional movement's offices. After the airstrike, a helicopter flew over and fired upon the site as well. As reporting is restricted by the country's government, information about the event is difficult to gather. The casualties were initially reported at being around 50, but later grew to around 100 with around 20-30 being children. The United Nations has spoken out against the attack, and both the UN and NGOs have gathered evidence surrounding the government's human rights abuses.
