21-year-old Jack Teixeira was brought to court today as he was charged with a federal crime of leaking classified documents relating to the United States’ involvement with the Ukraine war, along with Intel that the United States has been spying on nations such as Ukraine and South Korea. The 21-year-old is now facing imprisonment for two charges, the first being unauthorized retention and transmission of national defense information and unauthorized removal and retention of classified documents. These together would put Jack Teixeira on trial for 15 years in prison if found guilty. He has hired a public defender and will be beginning his practice on April 19th.
