Representatives from North and South Korea have decided that on October 21st and 22nd that families separated by the Korean War will have a reunion. They still have not agreed on how many families to include in the reunions. The Korean War ended in 1953 with a cease fire, but there was no peace treaty signed. When it ended, the war separated millions of families. There was a similar reunion last year, where about 10,00 people applied to be apart of the reunion, but less then 200 families were actually invited to attend. These reunions are the first time since the war that many families have seen or heard from one another, because there is no form of communication allowed for normal citizens between North and South Korea.
