Earthquake hits Nepal

A magnitude- 6.9 earthquake hit northern India and Nepal at 6:10 p.m. local time (8:40 a.m. ET). Eleven have been found dead due to the quake. Three of the casualties were found under a wall of the British embassy; including an eight year old girl and her father. At least a dozen are injured after they jumped from their homes during one of this areas largest quakes to ever be recorded. In Katmandu, parliament members were discussing the national budget when the earthquake hit, they evacuated to the buildings parking lot. The meeting resumed fifteen minutes after the quake hit. A tsunami warning has been issued. With the countries history of the powerful tidal waves, it will still be important to watch out for one. The quake was 169 miles away from Katmandu.
