Famine Hits Somalia in a World Less Likely to Intervene

The United Nation's warnings could almost be considered a cry for help. The drought-induced famine is slowly taking over Somalia, and with an Islamist group guarding the borders, it is seeming nearly impossible to get the country help. We all know that it will eventually begin to rain, but it will be too late. Diseases are expected to spread throughout Somalia as well. This is not the first time that Somalia has experienced such disaster, however, in the 1990's when it happened the world was more than willing to step in and help out. That is not the case this time. Analysts say that military forces have attempted at fixing Somalia's problems before and have failed, and the same thing would happen this time around. According to Ken Menkhaus, we are too late.
