London Surgeons Seperate Craniopagus Twins

In a London children's hospital, surgeons completed a risky, dangerous operation that seperated one pair of eleven month old Sudanese craniopagus(joined at the head) twins. The operation, dangerous due to the high level of blood flow to the brains, was a four step process funded by the charity "Facing the World"; known for its efforts in helping disfigured children. The operation was worth the risk as this type of disfiguration often leads to death of one of the twins. In this particular case, the one twin was already having stages of heart failure take place due to the uneven balance of blood flow between the two bodies. The operation, although rare (craniopagus births only result in 1 of 2.5 million births), has been done before and with positive results.
