Al Qaeda Resurgance

As the withdrawl from troops by the end of the year from Iraq gets closer U.S. and Iraq senior officials are worried about a resurgance by Al Qaeda. Officials expect that Al Qaeda will seek revenge after the deaths of its two leaders and the defeats from 2007. Officials believe they are not as strong as they used to be but understand that their strategies are changing. The Al Qaeda is Mesopotamia have said to be carrying out over 30 attacks a week and a large attack every 4 to 6 weeks. There is a debate going on at the Pentagon right now about just ending this war and getting everyone out of Iraq or keeping small numbers of American Military around. Officials are also worried that the former Baath Party might be reforming as an alliance to Al Qaeda.
