Security Forces Kill at least six in Syria on Muslim Holiday

According to Fox News, Security forces killed at least six people in central Syria on Sunday. These six were among anti-government protesters calling for the downfall of the Syrian regime. Five were killed in the central province of Homs, one of the main centers of protesting. The sixth civilian was killed in the city of Hama during raids. Also, troops fired live ammunition to disperse protesters. In the north, troops also fired as worshipers emerged from a mosque to stage a protest. In these two cases, there have been no reports of death, but several were wounded. A peace plan was broken after it was established by the Arab League. The plan agreed to halt suppression of protesters. Despite the plan, large protests to test the governments word were held on Friday. They resulted in gunfire, killing fifteen. Also under the plan, Syrian government agreed to pull tanks and other armored vehicles out of the cities.
