Satirical Song, a YouTube Hit, Challenges Extremism in Pakistan

A group of three young men from Pakistan formed a group called Beygairat Brigade, or A Brigade Without Honor, and wrote a satirical song openly mocking the military, nationalist politicians, religious conservatives, and conspiracy theorists. Their song is posted on Youtube, gaining more than 350,000 views, and shared on sites such as Twitter and Facebook gaining much attention since its mid-October release. These local musicians are giving a voice to the country's liberals and delivering commentary on current socio-political status of the country. The group thrives on "being politically incorrect when most needed, and giving voice to all those Pakistanis who live in fear." However, they have no intentions or dreams of becoming revolutionaries, activists, or intellectuals, "at the end of the day, we are just musicians who raised some questions."
