Church of England unveils plan to ordain female bishops

This article talks about the fact that the Church of England is trying to ordain female bishops. Traditionally, men are only to be bishops and priests, but it looks like this is about to change. There is controversy with those who are very conservative in their views because they see this as going against the Bible. The people in favor of this change think that it might help the falling numbers of parishioners. They need 2/3 majority, but came up just short on the last voting. The church approved female clergy in 1992, but seeing as it has been run by men it has been hard to select women for the clergy. Even thought this has already happened in different countries, it is important to look at the fact that the church of England (one of the oldest) is making strides toward equality.
