In a suicide bombing in Kabul, Afghanistan, 15 people were killed, two among the fifteen were US soldiers and four were civilian contractors. Others among the dead were Afghan civilians and two children. An Islamic militant group, Hezb-e-Islam, is deemed responsible for this bombing. This bombing marks the first bombing in Kabul since March. The bombing in March killed nine people. The Taliban has announced a "Spring Offensive" meaning they intend to target foreign military bases and diplomatic areas. The group, Hezb-e-Islam is located in north east Afghanistan and is headed by the prime minister Gulbuddin Hekmatyar. Hezb-e-Islam has claimed there is a new group within their group to carry out suicide bombs, such as the one that occurred in Kabul.
