Relations Between Taiwan and Philippines Grow Weaker

After a Taiwanese fishing boat was shot down by the Philippine coast guard last week, tensions grow stronger and the relationship between the two states grows weaker. This tension comes from boundaries drawn indistinctly between the countries in fishing areas. What Manila calls "unintended," Taiwanese president Ma Ying-jeou calls "cold-blooded murder." Ma is calling for a formal apology, compensation for their losses, and punishing those responsible for the death of 65-year-old fisherman Hung Shih-cheng.
