Putin Sees Path to Diplomacy Through Syria


Due to the low oil prices and weak rauble that's affecting Russia's economy, Mr. Putin has offered to hold talks with the United States on Syria.

Mr. Putin is interested in getting "back on track" with the West, and he knows that a way to do so is taking advantage of Syria's situation and proposing military talks as well as a Syrian peace plan.

Mr. Putin's hopes that him and Russia can leave the isolation that they have been placed in since the West imposed sanctions over Ukraine.

Taking into consideration the relationship that Mr. Putin and president Obama have, it must really be in Mr. Putin's best interest to meet and reach an agreement, which although that's understandable it's so repugnant that he is taking advantage of the terrible situation that millions of Syrians are going through. Also, it will probably not be president Obama who Mr. Putin will meet with. He might meet with John Kerry or alike, however, I have to admit, I would love to see him chat directly with president Obama.
