The President of Afghanistan, Hamid Karzai, claimed that foreign and international help was inhibiting his government's job to help their country because foreigners and western nations had led to "fraud" in the country's elections during August. He especially condemned the former UN Mission head Peter Galbraith and the European Union head Gen Phillipe Morillon with their attempt to bring in a "puppet government" in Afghanistan. Both parties, later, renounced the accusations. Later, however, Karzai called Washington to put his questionable and somewhat misunderstood remarks to rest. He also reached out to Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and gave hopeful signs to work in conjunction with the US to help the country. President Obama also visited Afghanistan recently to show his support for Karzai's efforts and also to discuss how the two nations can work to build a stable environment.
