Bringing back an issue the class talked about last week when news of the coup d'etat first broke, Kyrgyzstan's interim leader says the United States will be able to keep its important military base in the country needed to supply the war in Afghanistan. Also, in a move that could cause some tension, the interim leader promised safe passage for the former president out of the country, but not his family, who has been accused of corruption among other things.
