A Sign of Easing Tensions Between India and Pakistan

Pakistan has just elected its new prime minister, Nawaz Sharif.  He has built his stance on wanting to better relations with India.  He has said that better relations with India would help with the electricity problems hindering Pakistan.  The problem many people are worried about is that he will try to reformat the relations before he has a firm grasp on the complicated security infrastructure of Pakistan.  Pakistan is ruled highly by the Taliban which is a group in favor of terrorist tactics.  The worst example of this was in 2008 when terrorist attacks in Mumbai resulted in 164 deaths.  While Pakistan denied involvement from any of its citizens, relations suffered nonetheless.  Many are skeptical that the election of a single prime minister could change decades of tension between the two states but there are high hopes.  Expecially considering the thing that made Pakistan so dangerous, the Taliban, is now getting out of control and threatens Pakistan itself.
