The Dalai Lama, the spiritual leader of Buddhism spoke about the violence currently going on in Myanmar and Sri Lanka specifically against Muslim groups. He recently visited the University of Maryland and spoke in front of 15,000 people about it. This is an important topic, and now he has spoken about it, I wonder how much it will change. The article brought up the separate sect of Buddhism that these areas follow, which doesn't actually fall under the leadership of the Dalai Lama. Would things be different in these areas if they had a spiritual leader like the Dalai Lama? I will be watching to see if Wirathu, the "Buddhist Bin Laden", will respond to the Dalai Lama's points on his social media sites or on his YouTube channel any time in the near future.
