Gunfire Attacks Kill 4, Wound 3 in Iraq

Over the weekend, four civilians were killed with an additional three injured during a two gunfire attack in Iraq. In the town of Mishada, near Baghdad, gunmen drove through a outdoor vegetable market where they opened fire, injuring and killing civilians. The drive-by shooters are also responsible for killing a police officer in the town of Shaab. Officials believe that the perpetrators for these crimes will target the Iraqi police officers and security forces as an attempt to undermine the government in Iraq. However, when civilians are targeted in these violent acts, officials argue that those attacks are typically sectarian in nature. Currently, this case is under further investigation.
