The International Criminal Court (ICC) has found Germain Katanga (a Congo militia leader) guilty as an accessory to crimes against humanity and war crimes related the 2003 conflict in the Ituri province of the DRC. Specifically, he was found to be involved in the planing the attack on Bogoro and acquiring the weapons used which resulted in the deaths of over 200 people. He has been acquitted of crimes related to child soldiers and sexual slavery. He is the second person convicted by the court since its creation, although he has not been sentenced yet.
