On Monday morning (Sunday evening in the United States), North Korea test fired two short range missiles, according to South Korea's Defense Ministry. South Korea's Yonhap news agency said that Monday's test missiles flew approximately 300 miles after being launched off the North Korea's east coast, adding they were believed to be Scud-C models. The launch comes days after the start of annual U.S. and South Korean joint military exercises, which Pyongyang routinely denounces as an act of war. It's not uncommon for North Korea to launch missiles as a show of force. While not long range missiles, the distance means the missiles are capable of hitting targets in South Korea and Japan.
