North Korea reportedly fired two short range missiles off their eastern coastline on Monday. This is the second missile firing in the past week by North Korea. In the past week, there have been a total of four scud missiles that have been fired off by the North Koreans. These missiles were fired off right when the United States and South Korea were beginning their joint military exercises. Thursday's launch of these scud missiles was the first time that this was done since 2009. These scud missiles have range enough to reach any point on the Korean peninsula. These missile firings don't seem to be targeted at eliciting responses from other nations as they were last year when such activity was going on in North Korea.
