Russian lawmakers OK use of military force in Ukraine
Russian Parliament has voted to allow Russian military intervention in Ukraine, in response to Putin's request to do so. This comes after Russian armed forces have already began to station themselves and make their presence known by placing armed guards in the regional airports, in the region of Crimea. Crimea is the southern region of Ukraine that consist of people who are majority Russian. The military response comes after Ukraine's president, a pro-Russian, was ousted after months of protest in the countries capital. This whole situation does not bode well for anyone, as the U.S and UK have a treaty with Ukraine promising protection should Russia invade. Should this problem escalate, it could lead to a major regional conflict, the likes of which could be the most serious since WWII. The Obama administration has issued threats to the Kremlin stating that any military action will have "costly" consequences. In response, Russia has requested to recall all Russian ambassadors, further hinting that Russian military action is imminent. The next few days should be interesting.
