Nadia Murad was captured by ISIS in 2014 and was sexually enslaved for 3 months prior to her escape due to one of her captors leaving a door unlocked. Now, in 2018, she is a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize alongside Dr. Denis Mukwege who treats victims of rape. I believe this article not only represents the hot topic as of now regarding survivors and their voice but how different parts of the world are arguably more dangerous than others. Along with that the article states how Murad continuing her life casuses ISIS not to succeed. By doing so it raises the awareness of how terrorists groups can have a lasting impact on one but speaks to great length of how to strengthen the survivors voice while diminishing the terrorists.
