Meng's wife reported the disappearance of her husband, the president of Interpol, for the last 10 days and the French police opened an investigation. He was on a home visit to China, and he was last seen at the headquarter in Lyon, France in late September. According to a newspaper based in Hong Kong, Meng was immediately taken for an investigation when he landed in China. The French paper Le Monde reported that this is not the first time that a high ranking Chinese official had disappeared. Exchanges between China and France are currently ongoing.
