US indicts Russian agents over alleged hacking of doping agency -Emilio Lopez

Russia has currently been getting a lot of heated controversy over cyber attacks and hacking. This is following many other allegations such as Russian spies assassinating people, hacking into a Dutch chemical weapons agency, and United Kingdom cyber attacks. Currently the U.S has indicted seven Russian intelligence officers in connection with hacking into a anti-doping sports agency, money laundering, and fraud. What importance does this bring to IR? It signifies that Russian officials are more than likely being instructed by their government to commit these acts, although what this might escalate to is unknown, considering there are sanctions already, more might be added. This could also signify a start to a new conflict to see who can hack who. This may also lead into a new Cold War between Russia and the United States if there is no resolution found. However, the most compelling aspect of this is that Russia is denying any intervention, even if many of its government officials are doing these acts.
