After the collapse of the eight story building near the capital of Bangladesh, the death toll has reached over 700 after dozens more people were found from the rubble. Even though about 2,500 people were injured and 2,437 were rescued, people are still missing. From this tragedy, the buildings owner has been arrested along with others. This disaster is the most deadly industrial disasters in Bangladesh and one of the most deadly in the world, not including 9/11. From this tragedy, protests have began against the unfair treatment of the workers in the factories. There have been reports saying that some workers were housed in the eight-story building. The EU is considering possibilities of actions in response to the collapse to help better the worker's conditions in the Bangladesh clothing industry. Yesterday, in Bangladesh, it was announced from their government that there would be a panel to look at factories for violations.
