Recent violence has been the result of increasing tensions in the West Bank over the last six months. A Palestinian man stabbed a father of five to death at a bus stop in a Jewish settlement before using the victims pistol to fire upon police.Israel retaliated with a missile strike against Gaza and claimed that their use of violence was in defense and justified, especially since they claim that the militant who was killed from the strike was suspected of committing routine attacks against Israel. The peace has lasted about two years, but now tensions are causing worry about near future breakouts of conflict again over Jewish settlements in the West Bank. Political and democratic solutions do not appear in sight.
