This articles discusses how a small dispute broke out between the Jukun group and younger members of the Hausu and Fulani groups in Nigeria. The Jukun group was traveling through an area where the two ethnic groups meet, on their way to a funeral, where arguments broke out. Eventually it lead to a gun, machete, and fire battle that killed 30 and resulted in 40 under arrest. On their way to a funeral for one, 30 others die. The dispute is thought to be of religious roots since the Fulani are mainly Muslim and the Jukun are mainly Christian.
The article also touches upon how the US has pushed for Nigeria to do more to prevent these religious violent acts from occurring.
