Eman Helal is a photographer in Egypt. While photographing, she must dress as a man
to protect herself from the violence that women often face in the streets. Since the Arab Spring, physical attacks on
women have increased, often due to less police offer to control the
violence. Helal decided to do a story
covering the public harassment that women face.
She conducted interviews with women who were often hesitant to share
their stories and to be photographed.
Not only is Helal working on this project to raise awareness, she is also
involved with anti-harassment campaigns.
