Over 25,000 Test Positive for Swine Flu, 1370 Deaths So Far

The Swine Flu has been a growing epidemic in India recently, killing close to 1,400 people and infecting nearly eighteen times that amount.  Gujarat has been the most severely affected of the 29 Indian states with 322 deaths followed closely by the state Rajasthan which has had 321 deaths. With Delhi receiving rains recently the fear of this epidemic spreading have increased since the normally high Indian temperatures are a deterrent to the spread of this virus. With the end not in in close sight the fear of the H1N1 virus is continuing to spread through India even faster than the virus itself.

The pandemic problem in India poses a serious threat to the country, with the second largest population at the world at over 1.2 billion and being in a season where the spread of  the virus thrives this could not only have a significant effect on the people of India but may also affect the production of the country's exports due to the fact that the spread of the virus may slow worker productivity.
